Despite efforts by organizations, many Nigerians still hug tightly to cash for transactions; they just love the smell and feel of their money.
Even among the so called "wealthy", there is a great degree of indifference about the so called cashless economy.
The average Nigerian sees the idea of having all his savings on a simple plastic card with a magnetic strip as a fairy tale.

The cattle dealer in the north may have not heard of the plastic money and even if he heard of it may not make any meaning because he is used to cash, the fast, reliable means of transactions know to him for ages.
Down east, traders there appear to have sworn that every business must be cash based and that is why they travel long distances with cash to seal transactions. They are therefore like the cattle dealers easy preys for armed robbers who see them as cash cows.

Despite repeated attacks, Nigerians seem to have vowed not to use the credit card, which is simply a plastic device that enables users buy items without needing cash
